Stambaugh Jewelers celebrated our 75th anniversary in November of 2023. In October, we requested submissions for customers to tell us about their special moments over the years and how Stambaugh Jewelers had been a part of it. We were thrilled to read more than 60 heartfelt stories! We asked an independent person, not affiliated with our store, to read the submissions and select a winner. Congratulations to our 75th Anniversary Contest winner, JoAnn Stockman! She will receive a 0.75 carat round brilliant diamond that Scott selected on his recent trip to Antwerp, Belgium. We’d like to share her story with you:
“My story is pretty simple and it goes back to 1974. I was working across the street at Spiegel catalog and was pregnant with my first child. In the mornings we would all go to Kuntz drugstore where I first met Troy Stambaugh. He was always so pleasant and asked how I was feeling almost every day. I gave birth to my son two months early and when I returned to work Troy took me over to the jewelry store and gave me a gold baby ring for my son. About a couple of months later I took a family heirloom to Stambaughs that belong to my grandfather, who had died just six weeks before my son was born. It was his tie tack and I wanted it made into a necklace. One of Stambaugh’s jewelers took my son‘s baby ring and my grandfathers tie tack and made a beautiful necklace for me. For anyone that knows me they can see that necklace every day, as I have worn it for the past 49 years. Every time someone admires my necklace, I tell them the story of Troy Stambaugh’s kindness. day.
